Great Student and opening night!  Here’s the write-up for the website/Facebook page.

We don’t have a team photographer right now, so I gave it a try. I am no pro, but I will keep trying. I’ll send you a few of the pics from last night in a separate email for your choosing.

Jenison Hockey took the ice tonight against the Kalamazoo Eagles. First period Jenison came out and made a statement with a 3 -0 lead. Playing in net for the Wildcats was Brett Batten. Second period the scoring settled down and both teams each scored one. Making the score 4 -1 with the cats still in control. Third period both sides lit the lamp a few times making things a little closer for a few minutes. The Cats came out and scored two goals only to let Kalamazoo back into the game after 3 goals of their own. This made the score 6 -4 with around 6 minutes left to go. With under a minute the Wildcats scored an empty net goal. Leaving the final score 7-4.

Leading the scoring was Jenison’s captain Chad Lemke with two goals and 1 assists, Skyler Vining had 1 goal and two assists and Clayton Boerigter had 1 goal and two assists. Ethan Vandesteeg, Hunter Schrauger and Hunter Jamieson all recorded a goal apiece. Finishing off the scoring for the Wildcats was Brandon Veltema with two assists.

What great showing from the Cat Pack, Thank you to all students.

Next game is Saturday night at 6:30 against Byron Center on our home ice. Come out and cheer on the boys in green and white
