Friday night Jenison Varsity hockey played against Kenowa Hills Knights. The game started out with the Cats behind and the Knights at one point had a 4 goal lead. At the end of the 2nd period and in the 3rd period Jenison got the game within one goal. With Jenison on the power play in the last two minutes they just couldn’t quite get the last goal to tie the game up. Losing to Kenowa Hills the final score 6-5.
Skyler Vining led the way in scoring with a goal and three assists. Scoring a hat trick (3 goals) tonight was Hunter Jamieson. Chad Lemke had two assists and Clayton Boerigter scored the last goal. Jackson Terpstra and Ryan Schab each had an assist.
Next and last regular season game will be Saturday night at home against West Catholic. This will be Senior Night and the puck will drop at 8:30pm.
Saturday night Jenison hockey took the ice for the last regular season game. The Cats took on West Catholic who they lost to a few weeks ago. Jenison’s Jackson Terpstra scored in the first period with the assist going to Adam Weber. Brett Batten was in net for the Cats and kept things quiet for the Falcons. The score stayed 1-0 until about half way through the second period. Then in the span of a minute Jenison Scored 3 goals. Hunter Jamieson started things out with an unassisted goal. Then chad Lemke put two more in. One was unassisted and the other goal was assisted by Clayton Boerigter. Towards the end of the second period West Catholic scored 2 goals. That would be all the scoring in the game. Final score 4-2.
The Hockey team will not have any games as they prepare for pre-regionals.
