I can’t remember a time when the temperature dropped so dramatically. On Wednesday I was bummed that I forgot my hat due to the sun beating down and on Thursday, I wish I had packed my winter hat! Geesh – well that’s spring in Michigan. Speaking of spring we’ve got lots of good things going on right now.
Super proud of our girls lacrosse team who in its second year is not only competing, but winning! The girls are continually learning the game and am excited for the future of girls lacrosse in Zeeland!
Speaking of lacrosse, congratulations to Jack Hinken, who was the Fox Preps Athlete of the Week! Jack is a standout athlete on the team and is a big part in this year’s teams success!
Baseball & softball continue to compete in a very competitive OK Green conference and are right atop the conference standings. Be on the look out for Brayden Bachman who tied the single season home run total this week with 6! Great job Brayden.
Golf has enjoyed some better weather this season and like baseball & softball, is right near the top in the conference. And not to be forgotten, our JV team is doing an outstanding job as well!
Tennis only has one loss in the conference as they battled in tough conditions last nigh beating Unity Christian. They are fine tuning their game for the conference meet in just a few weeks. Keep it up ladies!
Soccer demonstrated a never quit attitude as they battled Unity Christian this week eventually falling to the Crusaders 2-0. Unity, a perennial state championship team had all they could handle against our lady Chix! Keep up that same effort girls and great things can happen!
Be sure to catch some water polo action this weekend as Zeeland hosts their annual tournament. They start action today (Friday at 4:30) against West Ottawa and then play again tomorrow at 10:00 and 1:00. Good luck girls!
In case you missed it, both track teams are running to an impressive season so far. I know track can be confusing to a non track person but try to make it out to watch our kids compete. They’re pretty good!
Looks like we’re in for some rain in the next few days – hopefully our fields can handle it but if not, stay tuned to rescheduled dates.
Yours in Sport.
