The Chix played at the very difficult Railside golf course. The course has out of bounds, water, and/or woods on every hole. It is always a big challenge. The team came in 6th and was led by Amber Dykstra with a 50. Everyone, as always, did their best!
The Chix had their lowest team score of the year with 212 last night at Maple Hill. Leading the team were Amber Dykstra with a 44, Ellen Menken with a 53, Ane Spomer with a 54, and Amy Abel with a 61.
The Zeeland East girls cross country team ran past Coopersville posting a 24-31 win at Ridge Point on Wednesday. The Chix used a strong 1-2-3 finish to seal the race. Sophomore McKenna Van Doornik placed first followed by freshmen Danielle Groendyk and Kelli Weighmink. The Chix are 2-0 on the season with conference meet action
Zeeland East Boys Cross country lost a close non-conference dual meet to Coopersville on Tuesday by a 30-26 margin. The boys fall to 1-1 overall with conference meets beginning next week at Hamilton High School.
Jeremy DePree won his 100th match of his career and the remaining singles swept a much improved Bulldog team. The BC 1st Doubles team of Lundy and Conley played very well in defeating Lambert and Hodges. The remaining Chix doubles teams were able to squeeze out victories in two sets. The win moves the Chix
All 3 levels of Zeeland East volleyball came awya with wins tonight at Hamilton. Freshmen and JV won in 2. Varsity lost the first 2 sets, then came back to win the last 3. The Chix are 2-0 in the league.
Zeeland East swept the Dux behind strong play in all flights. Singles did not give up a game, while doubles also picked up their games to defeat their neighbors. Last second substitute Josh Scott filled in admirably for the injured Jordan Wiebenga, teaming with Brian Schrems to beat ZW’s 2nd doubles.
