Tennis Varsity Boys, Zeeland East @ Grand Rapids CC – 10 Sep, 2011 9:00am

Kevin Slagh played his strongest match of the day and Andy Villanueva and freshman Josh Scott help lead the Chix over GRCC. The three wins on the day provided Zeeland East the victory at the Grand Haven Quad finishing with 19 points to GRCC and Grand Haven’s 13 points and Grand Ledge’s 3 points.

Trevor Stoimenoff displayed his outstanding talents at first singles giving Jeremy DePree his first loss of the season. Several flights were left vacant, leaving GL short handed and unable to help their top flight 1st singles player. The match was part of the Grand Haven Quad.

The Chix swept the Hawkeyes in the wind. Jeremy DePree held off a solid effort from Hamilton freshman Justin Folkert. Doubles were led by Brian Schrems and Jordan Wiebenga. The Chix travel to Grand Haven this week to take on the Bucs, GR Catholic Central and Grand Ledge.

Zeeland East volleyball defeated Wyoming Park tonight in their first match of league play. Scores were 25-11, 25-13, and 27-25.
